Hello,

Sorry if this is an old question or if I'm breaking any forum rules... but I've searched and searched and I can't find any solution to this.

As well as streaming, I use vmix as a vision mixer for live shows. For that kind of scenario, I often do a rehearsal earlier in the day, which means running everything as it would 'on the night.'

This leads to many if not all of the playheads for the inputs being midway or at the end of each clip.

I can't for the life of me find a way to just reset the whole 'show' (preset) so that everything is back at the beginning and ready to go for the next run. The only solution seems to be going through every clip and clicking 'restart'.

I've tried various scripting solutions but failed to make any of them work (probably my fault). I'm sure in the past just closing and reopening vmix did the trick, but maybe I'm mis-remembering...

Happy to be told I'm being an idiot. Thanks in advance.

Make sure to tick the ‚Automatically Restart with Transition‘ checkbox in the input settings so it doesn’t matter where the playheads are. You can also make this the default setting for new inputs in the general settings.

Go to 'Settings' and under 'Options' Make sure to tick the‚'Automatically Restart Output Input with Transition‘ checkbox and while you are there, tick the box above and below as well, as this will start the video to play automatically, and pause it when you switch...you can also set where you want your clips to start from, by placing it in the preview window, use the slider to set the position, and Right Click on the handle of the slider to see the dropdown window, and select 'Mark In'...it will always start to play from that point every time... do the same to set where you want the clip to end, and when it is 10 seconds from the end the digits will turn RED as it counts down so you will know when to transition away...

To write script for this, I use the simplest code:
Function=Restart&Input='NAME OF CLIP'..

hope this helps you
