I am one of many production professionals who rely on vMix Replay for esports events.
While the current 8-camera limit is very capable, we are increasingly finding it insufficient for our needs in the esports space.

As you know, many of the most popular esports titles are played in a 5v5 or 6v6 format.
To capture all the player POV cameras for a complete replay, the current 8-source limit falls short.

Given today's powerful hardware and the key optimizations in vMix 29 (lower CPU usage for Replay, per-input recording drives), the system appears ready to handle more channels.

These technical improvements suggest that the system is now more capable than ever of handling a higher channel count by distributing the workload effectively.

Given the importance of vMix in the growing esports production world, I believe now is the perfect time to scale up the Instant Replay system.
I would like to formally request an increase in the maximum number of replay sources to 10 or even 12.

I'd be interested to hear what the community thinks about this.

Thank you.

AM sure it would be possible to sync two systems with a bit of brainstorming (scripting and controlling) for a 16 cam instant replay

just use more vmix instances/operators for more replay channels. unless you are showing a multiview replay (i guess just a split screen since there are only 2 playout channels) there is no reason they need to play out in sync

Thanks for the ideas. Unfortunately, those workarounds aren't practical for us.

For esports, one operator needs to instantly play synchronized replays from all 10+ player POVs.
Using separate systems makes this essential, synchronized playback impossible during a live show.

That's why a native increase to 10-12 sources is the only real solution.
