We are doing a big project, where we need to record timecode from deity tc1's which are plugged into the cameras. This way, if the camera changes a battery or drops a frame, we can still sync the files in post easily. We will also run a timecode signal with the audiomixer which come in via dante in 16 channels. This way, in post, all files are perfectly sync.
It's a project where we go live with the PGM, but all cameras are recorded seperatly and a new edit is made afterwards, which is meant for tv.
The Deity tc1's are connected to each camera and embedded in the video feed which enters our machine. This way, even if a camera changes battery or is unplugged, the multicorder may stop, but once it picks up again has timecode embedded. We can choose to record the audio from input which contains the timecode, but would like to add a channel with the PGM mix. That's easier for the editors. Now we have to choose either Master or Input, but we cannot combine. Recording the sync signal from a bus is not an option, as this would not solve the issue we try to solve via adding the timecode.
Would it be possible to combine recording from input? This would result in 4 channel audio. Or to have on the L channel the input, on the R channel the PGM mix.
