Hi vMix Team and Community,

I’m currently using vMix for live streaming with a Blackmagic DeckLink card, and I’d love to see native support for 5.1 surround audio in future versions.

Right now, SDI inputs in vMix only seem to handle stereo audio, which means that 5.1 mixes from professional DAWs or consoles (like Pro Tools, Dante-enabled mixers, or Dolby Atmos workflows) need to be downmixed to stereo before streaming. This can significantly limit audio quality and immersion, especially for music performances, live events, or cinematic broadcasts.

Feature Request:

Support 5.1 (and potentially higher channel counts) for SDI and NDI inputs.

Allow multi-channel audio to be embedded and streamed correctly to platforms that support surround sound (or keep it discrete for local recording).

Option to downmix to stereo when needed, but also preserve the original multi-channel feed.

I believe this feature would make vMix a lot more attractive for broadcast-quality and immersive audio streaming workflows.

Thanks for considering!
