Hi folks,

I’m experiencing frequent and random disconnections in vMix Call where remote guests’ video suddenly freezes but local camera feedback still works (as shown in the following wireframe).

mockup.jpg (18kb) downloaded 21 time(s).

Upon the disconnection, in the browser, the JavaScript console logs:

Code:
vmixcall: iceConnectionState: disconnected

The Network console keeps showing new requests, all of them with status 200 OK., no request has a different status.

As network requests keep going on and on, the video won't recover unless the page is reloaded.

I hope you can help debug / solve this issue!

Cheers!

If the return feed freezes you can try to lower the quality and/or the bandwidth you send. (Return Video Bandwidth). Another approach is to bond networks to allow for more bandwidth available.

We have 500M of bandwidth, we should still lower the quality?

You are saying that the remote side -the one with browser using call- has 500mbps of bandwidth? If that is the case then there should be more than enough on that side. But pure bandwidth isn't all. For real world transmission thee is more to this like jitter, packetloss, latency, RTT... that could decresase the net bandwidth between two side dramatically.
Feel free to probe with winMTR if you can spot bottlenecks as a basic first step.
