I’d like to suggest a new productivity feature for GT Designer: a Global Animation Timeline Overview Panel that allows for batch editing and visualization of all animations across elements in a title.
The Problem:
Currently, editing animations in GT Designer requires selecting elements one-by-one and managing their animations individually in the Animation Panel. While this works for simple titles, it becomes time-consuming and error-prone when dealing with more complex compositions involving multiple text fields, images, and transitions. Suggested Feature: Animation Timeline Overview
A new “Timeline View” or “Global Animation Panel” that shows all animated elements and their keyframes in a unified horizontal timeline would greatly improve efficiency. This could mimic familiar UI from tools like After Effects or OBS’s move transitions.
Key Capabilities: • Global Timeline View of all objects and their animations • Ability to select and adjust multiple animations across different elements simultaneously • Drag to reposition timing and adjust durations visually • Batch apply easing types (e.g., linear, ease-in, etc.) • Lock/Unlock animation groups (or mimic grouping with linked animations) • Ability to copy/paste animation blocks between multiple elements • Sync animations so that e.g., 5 elements enter at the same time with the same motion Optional Enhancements: • Preset animation “styles” that can be saved and reused • Zoomable timeline for precision edits • Playback preview within the animation panel to scrub and test timing
Why This Matters: • Reduces repetitive work when designing complex graphics • Makes GT Designer more approachable for power users used to animation timelines • Helps avoid timing mismatches across elements (e.g., staggered fly-ins) • Makes managing and debugging animations much more efficient
