Background Layer for each Imput

Hi there,
we often have the task of putting an animated background in the back of a waiting screen title. Right now we would have to create an input for the title itself, an input for the background loop and a third input to composit these two (put them into the 10 available layers of the third input).
It would be very nice if each input would have a background layer along the 10 foregound layer composition options. That would eliminate the need for a bunch of inputs that we have to create for each fullscreen graphic or PIP inputs.
Any chance to see this in VMIX?
Cheers
Robert

Robert It (kind of) already does. I. Your scenario you only need 2 inputs - the title and the video. You can then put the title as a layer on the video input, choose the 'flatten layers' option, and you're all set.

No sorry,
this is not efficient. If I have a BG-Loop that I use on a lot of Title layers, I would have to create an (Videofile) input for all of them. Beside the problem that it causes a lot of stress to the CPU, and SSD because it pulls the data of this loop with every new input again and again it is not really good to manage. If I want to change the BG in the production I would have to do this for every single input. And another downside is that you can't use the merge transition if you use a flattened input.
With my method I just would have to change exactly one (1) input - the one with the BG-Loop and every Input that uses this as a BG composition would be good to go.
It has massive advantages if we would have an option to define a layer as background layer in the layers tab.
Cheers

Easy. Use a virtual input. Add your background into an input. At the right corner, right click the cog and create a virtual input. You now have a 100% copy of the backgound. Repeat for all input that needs it. Now one the virtual inputs you can add the layers on top. The beauty, if you change the original input you change all virtual inputs as well at the same time as they are just a reference.
Hope that helps

So you added a third and even a fourth step to a task that is with my request doable with only one click.
I know all about these workarounds. So please don't explain how to do it - that is pretty clear.
With an option to set a layer to background this would reduce everything to one simple click. Simply as that - this is the request.
Cheers
Robert
