Hello vMix Team and Community,
I’ve been a professional user of vMix Instant Replay for over two years in live sports production, and I greatly appreciate how stable and flexible the replay system is for multi-angle workflows.
I’d like to propose an enhancement that could significantly elevate vMix Replay’s capabilities:
🔹 Add AI-powered frame interpolation to generate super slow-motion replays from standard 50/60fps cameras, similar to what other systems offer, such as: • e-Slomo by SimplyLive • XtraMotion by EVS
This would enable smooth, detailed slow-motion playback from regular broadcast cameras, without requiring expensive HFR (High Frame Rate) equipment.
✅ Use Case This feature would be incredibly useful in sports where dramatic replays (slo-mo goals, fouls, finishes) enhance storytelling and viewer engagement — even when operating on a limited budget.
✅ Technical Suggestion AI-based frame generation could be handled: • Internally in vMix, as a new effect in Replay • Or exposed via the API to allow plugin developers to generate slow-motion clips using machine learning libraries like TensorFlow or NVIDIA Optical Flow SDK
🔄 Workflow Idea • Replay operator marks IN/OUT as usual • Presses “AI Slow-Mo” → vMix renders a slow-motion version using frame interpolation → saved as new camera angle or overlay
I believe this could open up a new frontier for vMix Replay users in professional sports and creative video production.
Looking forward to community feedback and hopefully vMix’s interest in implementing this.

You're asking vMix, a $700–$1200 software, to casually throw in a feature that systems like EVS XtraMotion and SimplyLive e-Slomo charge upwards of $13–18k for. It’s like asking your Toyota to do 0–100 in 2 seconds like a Tesla Plaid, but still keep the fuel economy of a Prius.

Thank you for your response — and I do get your analogy. But respectfully, I’d like to clarify that the request isn’t about turning vMix into a Tesla Plaid — rather, it’s about making the most of modern GPU hardware that many vMix users already have. Tools like NVIDIA Optical Flow SDK are now public and highly optimized for real-time frame interpolation, especially on RTX GPUs. These tools can be integrated efficiently without licensing costs, unlike proprietary platforms like EVS. Just like vMix added NDI support or instant replay at a fraction of traditional system prices, this AI-enhanced slo-mo feature can be optional, lightweight, and perfect for small broadcasters who want more value from their standard 50/60fps cameras — not a full 180fps HFR setup. So it’s not about matching EVS — it’s about offering creative tools to creators who already rely on vMix as their production hub.

If one uses vMix profesionally maybe HFR equipment should be used and charge for the extra Thanks for the feedback. While it’s true there are standalone tools that generate slow motion externally, what I’m proposing is workflow-native, GPU-powered AI processing inside or alongside vMix. The goal is seamless replay enhancement — not having to jump between software, re-import files, or rely on manual rendering. With NVIDIA’s Optical Flow SDK and models like RIFE, we now have tools that run real-time on consumer GPUs, generating ultra-smooth motion even from standard 50/60fps content. This becomes extremely useful in sports environments where adding emotional impact from basic camera sources is crucial — especially when true HFR cameras are cost-prohibitive. And yes, HFR is great — but AI makes slow motion democratized, and I believe vMix could lead the way by integrating it smartly (even as a plugin or external module).
