No Audio output with VCable sometimes

We're seeing on Windows 11 machines, but not all, a problem with audio output on VMIX. Not seeing on the few remaining Windows 10 machines. All are 24H2.
We're using Virtual Cable+ABCD with various outputs. This has worked well in the past.
Checked with Vlc that other apps can generate audio on the virtual bus, and pick up okay. It's just VMIX that is showing levels on the output A-D bus, but those audios don't arrive.
It looks like this is a recent problem with a Windows 11 update. Tried reinstalling VMIX with no joy. I saw this a couple of months ago, and had to completely rebuild Windows, whereafter the problem was solved, but this is not a good solution.
I can't seem to pin this down to any particular circumstance, because pretty much all the workstations use the same profile and other software.

I created a solution to this, but it's quite horrible. In short, I change the outputs to just "enabled" on bus A B C etc. Then VLC can read these as directshow and output to the virtual audio cable. I wrote a small progam to work out the GUID of each device (different on different PCs) and made it into a batch file.

Take a look at lama connect or mix. You are able to create an NDI stream with up to 255 audio channels. Lama supports ASIO which vMix is capable of as well. You might even use the virtual cable in Lama and route whatever audio. Second option is Dante Via that can bridge between apps. I made a video about it. Might be interesting.

Thanks for the reply.
So after much experimenting I've realised what's happening and it's quite silly. But just as a reference the answer is that Windows 11 mute settings for vMix affects all device output (but not directshow output). Somehow the application sound for vMix had been muted, I think someone had in their head that you could mute vMix audio output and it was not mute the individual output's A, B, C, etc.
