Hi @all,

we have got a brief technical question.

Is a working Internet connection mandatory on every startup of vMix (e.g. in order to check the current license code)?
Or can we also use the vMix Live Production Software in an offline environment after licensing it?

We just obtained a vMix HD license and want to use it on a sports event this weekend where no internet uplink will be available.
However, we are currently unsure because we might remember that there was some kind of license validation within the Trial test period before.

Thanks for the clarification

André from Germany

Hi André

Typically you don't need a working internet connection if vMix has been registered/activated.
But, if you change some critical hardware (like CPU, graphics card, etc) that will alter your systems "fingerprint", then you you need to re-activate while connected.

So, to be on the safe side plug in everything you will use on location and start vMix "at home" when connected. When it works, disconnect, restart vMix and check that vMix starts up nicely.

We have virtually never had to reactive our installations.

Good luck!
