Hi to all, I am in need of building a vMix 4k computer. I have been using an intel mac mini, but it chokes on iso records. I bought a 5700 gpu and a sonnet chassis, but have yet to get it to work to offload processing to allow for non glitching iso records. I either need help getting this system to talk, or specs on what to buy. I am looking ro record 6-8 1080 60 streams. The mac mini is the last intel with the biggest processor and 64 RAM. I paid a fair amount for the gear I have hoping to use it for vMix in bootcamp and use it for final cut on the mac side. If someone here can help me in getting it to perform properly for me, i would love it. If not, specs on a windows rackmount would be awesome help
My sonnet chassis has gpu in one side, ans 3 pcie in the other side. Its loaded currently with both decklink hdmi and sdi cards

The vmix people have never really supported hardware encode using AMD graphics. I think they support AMD with streaming, but not recording (or is it the other way around?). If you have the "use hardware encoding" checkbox enabled, but it isn't actually using hardware encoding, then I'm pretty sure it's because you need nvidia and not amd.
But I would double check with support at vmix to confirm, before going out and buying another (potentially expensive) graphics card.

It's been 4 years since I posted that, no wonder I couldn't remember which way around it was. :)
But can vMix use AMD hardware encoding for Multicorder/ISO recording? That's different than regular recording.
I have no idea. I have since then given up on AMD graphics with vMix and built new streaming computers with nvidia graphics.
