After using VMIX for almost 6 years now it seems to me Playlist- and List-feature both seem to fail in the task to deliver an easy-to-use playlist feature in the end.

Lists
- files only (think that's super for memory and performance issues)
- images stop the list
- no altering (audio levels /starting/duration) per entry
- no transitions
+ easy handling with m3u
+ somehow scriptable (adding/shuffling/etc)
+ entries can be switched on/off
+ nicely integrated into vmix interface and workflow
++ total playtime shows up

Playlists
- adding the correct input can be difficult no input number visible aka it's a pain to edit with a lot inputs present
- not so nicely integrated
- no shortcut to add an input aka it's a pain to edit with a lot inputs present
- inputs can only be removed not disabled
+ Supports Inputs, and transitions
+ since inputs are used, altering each video/file is possible (audio levels etc.)

- not really scriptable besides start/stop
- no total playtime visible only single imput playtime

What if you just remove the the Playlist feature and just enhance the list feature by adding:
Input-support and Transition/Duration settings?

+ and a shortcut to add inputs to lists so you can hover over an input and add it (quickly)

Sounds probably easier than it is, since inputs and files are just too different in vmix. But please consider making just one thought through playlist function without compromises and I'll be silent :-)
