Our vMix Reference machine which has been rock-solid for nearly two years has just lost its two Realtek audio inputs (1x line; 1x mic) - trying to add them as new inputs just shows an error about corrupt memory. The only thing that's changed is update from Windows 11 23H2 to 24H2 on Friday last.

Has anyone else had this issue and what was the solution? I have tried installing the latest audio drivers from the MOBO manufacturer. Haven't yet tried re-installing vMix as the venue cannot go down completely and we have a working get-out-of-jail-free card by using the microphones on the cameras until I can get in over a weekend and spend more time on finding a workaround.

Audio is available to the MOBO as I can hear the inputs through others apps such as Audactity. Just vMix having a problem, as far as I can tell.

Oh, and vMix no longer shuts-down nicely. You have to close it multiple times and OK the 'send info to Microsoft' dialogue.

Any help would be much appreciated. We've been holding off this Windows Update but it got through by stealth!

Many thanks.

Hi Jet, saw this post but didn't see any reference to audio specifically. Might be an idea to combine threads...

We are running v 24.0.0.72

Thank you.

You are asking questions about a most current OS and you are using a 4 years old vMix version. You really can't expect that an old vMix keeps updated for this. So, of course you should always keep vMix up to date or, if you really prefer that, keep your PC on a windows version that works good with the old vMix.

24H2 has it's problems and I can only tell you that the most current v28 works great with 24H2.

By the way, maybe you look into the changelogs of the last years of vMix development and I'm pretty sure you will enjoy all the fixes and new features it will bring.
