hi everyone, I use VMIX as a tool for broadcasting news Some of the videos I receive in real time come in 9:16 mobile I need to crop the blacks on the sides and place it on the same enlarged video with blur to get a full 16:9 image without losing information and without black on the sides.
my questions: 1. If there is such a feaure? 2. if not, How can you build one ( is it possible to save such an effect that you just feed the file to it and it puts the stretched video in blur and the same video with the crop?)
Thank you very much for listening and helping

sefi matutyahu Have a copy (virtual?) of the cam input , zoom , stretch, whatever and use the blurtool on it then layer the cropped video on top Use imagination and se the many vMix options (check out the many vMix video tutorials) Could even create a virtua set for it as a saved effect

Hello.Im also have the same problem and i found a workaround maybe not the better one possible, but seems to work good for me. We can do things manually but the purpose is during the live show is to speed up things more as possible. As limitations i personally see that we dont have an API command to send directly from shortcut into a vmix input one of the effects. So if we insert by drag n drop or by script a video 9/16 into vmix we cannot attach to it the effect by using a shortcut. We can turn on/off the effect or it`s strength if allready exist in a input. Also the effect work only in the base input but not seem to affect the layers 1-10. Also we cannot put as a layer of the base input, the same video input,so if this could be done,we could with some commands zoom in,add effect-strength,zoom out layer 1,add again the 9/16 video as layer 1 without the blur or with some blur if need,if we had a switch on/off for the effects to work also for the layers. So a workaround im using via companion bitfocus is 1.Create a mix input. Personally im using mix2 input for this purpose because of this is the 1st mix input and always will as mix2 if we remove mix3 to mix15 this one will not be affected it`s name as mix2. Be aware if you try it,do not move around if you have any other mix inputs to be sure not to change the mix input number 2. Go to the mix input settings and enable the gausian blur effect and in position zoom in so you will have the background zoomed in and blurred enlarged video 3. In layer 1 of mix2 input you have to zoom out as need so the 9/16 videos will appear all the content. For example for a 576*1024 it needs zoom out to about 0,22 to 0,25 4. We go to companion and do a button like the picture i attach 5.when we drop the video into vmix we click on it,so it will go to preview. Then while is on preview,we press the companion button/command we made and it is ready in mix2 input to proceed further Im pretty sure that will be also another solutions, but this one work for me. Also for cropping this needs only we send directly the 9/16 video into pgm because when we run a 16/9 production and we insert the 9/16 is allready cropped (or transparent) in the points of the 16/9 picture that do not cover the preset dimensions Screenshot_26-10-2024_201126.jpg (90kb) downloaded 0 time(s).

Personally i would like to be able to have a black on/off border and by default to be "on" like the photos folder exist. So if i need to overlay the 9/16 video, be able to do it right immediatelly after i insert/drop it into vmix and the main video of studio talents will be hidden. Hope that in a future version they will add it
