External Output Frame Rate Issue

I am trying to use an AJA IO X3 to connect to a display that does not support 29.97 framerate. When I try to change External 4 to 59.94 I get an error message "External Output Frame Rate must match vMix Frame Rate."
I am confused because the vMix documentation says "Select the Frame Rate for the External Output. When using the External Renderer this should be set to the frame rate required by the device's output. For vMix Video / Streaming, this should be set to the Master Frame Rate set under the Display tab for optimal performance."
I am using External 4 only for the external renderer and not for Streaming, so the above statement seems to imply that I should be able to set a different frame rate, but I cannot. Is there something I am missing?

Hello. I have a bmd decklink and i see the message you say when i try to do an external that has bigger framerate from vmix preset. If for example i have a preset 1080 25p and i need to do an external decklink 1080 50p says the message you say and doesnt work. In reverse way in a preset 50p i can do external 1080 25p so i believe that in your case you need to have the whole preset at 59.94 to be able to do the external framerate you need

Both the documentation and error message should really be updated to be clearer about the restrictions. I wonder if it is worth opening a ticket, just to see if it is working as expected or a bug. I really don't want to take on the extra processing needs of running my entire show at 59.94, so I'll just try to stick with displays that support my framerate, or maybe look into getting a cheap scaler.

For anyone else who runs into this same problem, this cheap-ish solution I found that seems to work. https://www.blackmagicde...ters/techspecs/W-CONM-28It's about $100 over their standard 3G converter. I am sure you can find cheaper scalers, but keep in mind that not all are created equal, latency and quality can be an issue on the super low-end.
