I am new to vMix and learning quickly. I am having a problem with the External monitor through the DecLink Minimonitor. I get an error (frame loss) that causes my monitors to go blank. The External monitor button stays RED, but if I click on the information I can see there are many frame losses. If I stop the External monitor and then restart it I get an error that says there is a problem with the Declink clock. I then restart the computer and I can start my vMix presets and the External monitors come on again. I have been able to run as long as 7 hours with the External monitor running. Has anyone had this issue and is there a work-around? Restarting the computer does not seem like a good solution as we are recording during this time. We need to continue recording as well as having the External monitors working.

Hi,

Unfortunately this looks like a hardware issue with the Decklink Mini Monitor unfortunately.
It can be very sensitive to the motherboard port it is installed in.

Try temporarily removing the VS4 and running vMix with just the decklink output and see what happens.

Also make sure the latest decklink drivers are installed.

Regards,

Martin

Thanks Martin;

Can you explain what causes the Frame losses?

Thanks

Tom

In this case it is caused by the Decklink Mini Monitor failing to render what vMix sends.
If vMix drops frames the mini monitor will just show the last frame, if it shows black it means the card is failing.
