It's getting close to Christmas in many cultures. Time to make wishes ;)

A lot of us have discussed in various topics different ways to zoom in/out in multiview setups. One common idea is to use Virtual sets. A few relevant topics include:

- MultiView zoom (feature request)
- Static background in virtual set (general discussion)
- Virtual set zooms (general discussion)
- Help with different transitions (general discussion)

I have recently done some more experiments and revisited the discussions. My guess is that by design virtual sets have to work with the whole setup, including the background layer, for different camera angles. It seems obvious that we could do much of what we ask for if virtual sets supported transparency, instead of having a black background.

For example, one could use a Video input (with a loop), and set its MultiView to add a Virtual set input. Zooming to different camera angles/elements would then leave the background (Video input) intact.

Hoping that his is technically possible, and that more users chime in ;)

hi,

In my opinion ability to be able to assign individual camera to each 4 camera boxes in the virtual set will give the flexibility to adjusting the background as each camera angle and based on the talent(s) sitting position in a studio with more than 1 people talking.

I feel that is worth looking into.
