we have been working V-mix at www.ilovepatrida.com for a couple of years with sucess in HD using elgato inboard HD capture cards and USB capture cards as well for additional cameras. We are currently switching to 4k and bought the Elgato 4k camlink USB capture card and a panasonic HC-VX11 camcorder which has a clean HDMI output in 4k. we tried connecting the camera HDMI output to the elgato camlink 4k USB capture card (obviously we used a 3.00+ USB port) but got black screen and the light on the cam link stayed dark. We managed to connect by using our Viltrox 7 inch screen which has a HDMI In port and HDMI Out port to get the signal from our camera to the elgato cam link which received the signal correctly, it passed to OBS, but still in V-mix it was not readable. To be precise, we had a lower segment black screen and in the top of the screen we got two segments of our real time feed, one on the right top and one on the left top of the screen. Sound was OK. Tried other cameras, camcorders, same thing. Obviously we downloaded all elgato drivers, we are running Windows10, and we are baffled as to why the Elgato 4k USB cam link while is figured in the available camera sources in VMix, cannot give us a signal. In terms of settings for the 4k camlink in VMix, we used the recommended 4k analysis, 25FPS PAL, VV12 format. Has anybody else encountered similar problems with the USB Elgato 4k camlink device? How did you solve the problem. our interim solution was to NDI the image capture from OBS, but we lose quality and clarity of the picture+ it unecessarily taxes our PC resources. (GeForce 3080 video card)
