For more convenience and to allow keys to be copied or moved, it would be useful if you could use the Streamdeck plugin to generate your own identification numbers for each key, independent of the Streamdeck. An adjustment of vmix would of course also be necessary here.
This would make it possible to copy and move keys, duplicate profiles and much more without having to re-link all shortcuts in vmix.

This would greatly speed up and simplify the adaptation to different requirements

I have no idea how this would be implemented, but this idea has my +1 as well. I go between different computers and duplicate setups and streamdecks and it's really hard to have to regularly update the couple hundred shortcuts and then their associated activators. Would love to have a built in method to be consistent across devices.

Can solve the problem of using different setups/shortcuts to different streamdecks in different usb port by using the website button option (url functions) of the SD application instead of the direct shortcut setting to vMix

- not usb port dependent
- not Streamdeck unit dependant
- easely move SD unit's buttons around
- works when vMix gui in not active/in focus
- SD can be used from another computer on the network
- easely transfer the SD profiles to another SD

Only use the direct SD to vMix option for activators

I've had it on my dodo list for a while and will test it more thoroughly.

I assume that Companion does not support live thumbnails or? I love that function.

Thanks for the tip.

I hadn't even thought of that! Sounds great! I'll give it a try and see if the additional layer doesn't cause too much extra work in practice.

What I would certainly miss are the live thumbnails. I didn't know I would love them until I used them for the first time. :-)

Thanks a lot for the tip!

Correct, that's the main disadvantage of Companion. No live thumbnails. I love them too.

Have you tried a backup/restore of the streamdeck profile. This way the shortcuts in vMix can be moved between different streamdecks.
Backup with one streamdeck and restore with another. This should have all shortcuts functioning unchanged.
