I think the current implementation of enabling Solo PFL is confusing.
From a user perspective, it's not an enabling/disabling of PFL, it's a switch between AFL and PFL. "AFL" is a feature as well :-)
That's why I suggest in settings dialog (audio) not to use a checkbox for "Default Input Solo Mode". Instead using a dropdown list with two options 1) AFL 2) PFL is better understandable for the user.
And to be consistent between the different dialogs: In the input audio settings I suggest the same. Set the label to "Input Solo Mode" and have a dropdown list with the same options as above.

Also, we are finding that PFL does not seem to be working on all input types. It works great on an incoming dante audio capture, but not on an audio playlist or on incoming audio embedded in SDI via a decklink card.
