We sometimes use vMix to run just graphics to our mixer. And we use transparent colour when we do not have graphics to show.
Then if we fade in for example video the transition works and image fades smoothly from transparent to video. When we fade out then fade button does cut, not fade.
It would be nice to have fade work in both directions.

The Fade does work, but you just don't see a transparent input fading in because it's transparent.
What you see is the previous input disappearing after the fade is completed, but only because the new input in the foreground is transparent.

In this case the merge transition should look better because it will fade out the previous input in front of the next input.
