Thumbnail views on Stream Deck - Activators don't work

I have the thumbnail previews for e.g. input 1-8 mapped on a Stream Deck XL.
This is a very great visual feedback!
But i also want to see which button/input is selected on the stream deck.
The activators don't work if "thumbnail" view is selected.
I think thumbnail is over the activator color?
It would be great if an overlay in form of e.g. red bottom bar would be on the button with the thumpnail if it is selected.
Is that possible?
