Good morning,
I need to upgrade my PC configuration. I currently have this setup -Carte mère : MSI X299 GAMING PRO CARBON -CPU : Intel Core i7-7800X -RAM: 2x Corsair Vengeance LPX 8GB DDR4 3000MHz -Carte vidéo : MSI Nvidia GTX1660Ti Armor OC 6G -Ventigrad CPU : NOCTUA NH-U9S -Blackmagic Design DeckLink Duo 2
I think the downside is the video card. In vMix I am permanently at 100% on the GPU. I regularly have small audio clashes on videos. I have about 150 inputs (video, audio, titles, Blackmagic video capture input, etc...)
What type of video card should I go for? RTX 4080, RTX 4090, others? Which models to choose?
THANKS Michael.

THANKS Michael. You are running pretty much the same system as I am though I put two 1660ti cards in it because I needed more monitors in the system (I have six active monitors, one for the browser for streaming, one for vMix, one for the front of the house screen, one for the rear of the house screen, one is the live stream monitor and one is a multiview of the cameras and the livestream for the camera operator). And yes, I'm still seeing around 9-17ms time for rendering but keep my Inputs in vMix numbering it the 40s which is probably the difference between our systems. I say get the most powerful video card you can fit into your system. Make sure the card you purchase will physically fit into the case and that you replace your power supply if the existing one can't provide the required watts.

Thank you for your reply. I started looking at RXT 4090 video cards and I think my choice fell on the Gigabyte GeForce RTX 4090 GAMING OC 24G. It's a dimension level monster. I'm thinking how to fit the card in my case.

If with "100% GPU" consumption you mean the "GPU MEM" indicator in the vMix interface. A new graphics card will not necessarily be the solution. This indicator reflects the usage of a small memory area to transfer data to and from the graphic card. And this memory is mostly the same on all GPU's. Please read this: https://www.vmix.com/kno...n-in-the-vmix-status-barI would suggest that you first optimize your 150 inputs according the kb article. There is a new technology called resizable bar which removes the GPU mem limit. But CPU, mainboard and GPU must support it. I'm not sure if your CPU or motherboard can use resizable bar. But it's worth to check first before buying a new card. Please read this: https://www.vmix.com/kno...th-resizable-bar-supportBest, Patrick
