Separate audio channels - Behringer mixer

Hi all, using the Behringer Xenyx Q1202 USB Audio Mixing Console to bring in two microphones (host plus guest) on my production into VMIX.
It has a USB input.
However I can't separate the audio channels. I want the host to be left and the guest to be right. I tried to use the pan, but when it came into VMIX, it was mixed mono still.
Wondering if anyone knows a workaround, as I want to be able to auto-mix the cameras based on who is talking.
Thanks.
