Hey all,

I am looking to build a high end system and am currently trying to choose between the Intel i9-10980XE (as per the reference system) or a Threadripper Pro 5965WX.

Graphics card is a RTX 4070ti and the system would have two decklink 8K Pros.

I’m wondering if the Threadripper pro is supported, I had seen in some places to avoid AMD as some of the feature set required by vMix was not supported, but it was fully supported on Intel. This info looked to be from a few years ago so checking if this is still the case?

The Threadripper the is newer system and I believe more powerful. It has PCIe 4 support so would allow for greater flexibility if/when it comes to upgrading, compared to the PCIe 3 of the i9-10980xe.

Are there any benefits going Intel over AMD or vice versa, or any quirks of running two decklink 8K Pros on either chip? The system would be capturing multiple SDI in, a few NDI in and multiple NDI out (depending on the job this could be HD 25 or 50, or 4K 25 or 50)

Thanks,
Jon
