We purchased a new Birddog p120, our first and only ptz camera, with the intention of using vmix to control the movement. We've upgraded the firmware on the camera and updated vMix to 26.0.0.40. The camera is setup as an NDI source with Sony VISCA over IP controls.

Everything works well except for the zooming presets. We've set up the presets by using the vMix ptz manual setup.

The preset panning and tilting work fine. The zooming is not working. It may move only a fraction of the way.

We're not sure what the problem is.

Anybody seen this in your setup?

Thanks.

Have noticed that the slider to the right of Zoom doesn't work on my Panasonic PTZs, however the +/- buttons do. Is this also the case for your BD cams?

I think that slider is for the manual zoom movement speed. When I move it to the lowest position, manual zooming is slow. The opposite is true for the highest. It doesn't seem to impact movement between presets though.

I am having the same issue with 2 Birddog P400 cameras running in 26.0.0.45 vMix, using POE and the Sony VISCA over IP control. Pan and tilt information are saving perfectly in the new virtual outputs I create but none of the zoom settings are captured. I can't tell if this is a vMix issue or a birddog issue.
I have read prior posts with this issue but the answers all relate to firmware and the posts are from 2021.

I am open to anyone who has a suggestion for what step I am missing.

Thanks

Looks like the NDI 5 firmware update will fix this in the future. So I will be updating cameras next week.

.94 is the official latest firmware version as of this date. You also might want to reach out to Birddog as the beta now has NDI HX, SRT and RTMP, too (it's pretty slick). It's likely to become an official release soon, too!

Have you resolved this? I'm looking at some of the newer Birddog cameras, but ptz control from VMix is a must have.
