Hello everyone,

I have questions regarding Tricaster’s 2 many, many NDI outputs and Vmix.
The TC2 has a feature where it puts literally ALL of its « media » (pgm/pvw/inputs/buffers/mix etc) on the NDI network. Which can be handy if you have the right network I guess. But are all of those signals « active » before you open the NDI input on Vmix ? Does Vmix only get a single frame as preview and then activate full bandwidth when you open the input ? Or are they all « full » all the time ?
Because if so we are talking about so many ~150Mo signals that all the network will absolutely need 10Go ports no ?
I don’t know if I am clear enough, but any help is appreciated.
Have a good day,

Peace !

NDI sources only consume network bandwidth when connected to a receiver (eg. used as an input in vMix). For example, if there are 12 NDI sources available from the TC2, but you have only opened (and connected to) two of them in vMix, then you are only using two NDI channels worth of network bandwidth.
