Hello everyone.

First time poster, but I'm at my wits end.

I upgraded vMix about two-three weeks ago (just pressed update in the program), and afterwards the program has been crashing often.
I can't switch inputs, can't enter settings - but it's still recording and streaming. The only way to exit the program is by Ctrl-Alt-Del, and the recording get's deleted afterwards.
This is really frustrating since we're sending live on TV and streaming to Twitch, so we have to shut everything down, and restart the problem. also I can't use the recording afterwards.

Often the problem has to do with bringing in a caller on vMixCall or adding a new input while on air. - but a few times it just happened at random.

I've made sure my graphics driver is up to date (GeForce2080RTX)

I've seen a similar problem being mentioned here: https://forums.vmix.com/posts/t28623-VMix-window-freezing - but no one has answered the OP.

So, I'm starting this thread to see if anybody can help me - I'm reluctant to install the previous version (can't find it anywhere either), since I've made a lot of corrections to my files.


Any advice would be appreciated!

Hi,

I would suggest contacting support and submitting a support report from vMix when prompted:
https://www.vmix.com/contact-us.aspx

The most likely cause is something corrupt in Windows or some faulty hardware. The report will show any error messages in the logs
that could indicate which component is causing the issue.

Thank you for the reply - one question though:
When vMix crashes I don’t get a promt to show a report, where or how, do I get a report of the crash?


i’m going to follow your advice first thing monday, when i get in at work.

Go to settings / 'About' and click 'Send Support Report'
