Remove extension from list items names

Hi.
Sometimes I like to use a list with nearly 20 videos that I play randomly. I have a Title that takes the name from the list item dynamically via the XML. But... anything you grab into the list shows the name + extension (video.mp4) and I have to rename all the videos every time I populate the list.
Is there a way to remove the extension automatically? I can try to create script, but this seems to be something someone could have asked before me.

Regards Scripting can do that for you Just google for "vb net remove file extension" and it will give you multiple solutions
