Upgrading an 8 cam HD setup to be three 4K cams and 5 HD cams. Installed an El Gato to sit aside a Blackmagic Decklink Quad 2, seemed to work for a minute, but then on third use, all hell is breaking loose and we're looking into replacing/upgrading to get there.
One option is to replace motherboard, GPU, maybe processor, but keep other parts we have.
Another option is to build from scratch but keep using the El Gato and Blackmagic (6 of one, probably).
Third option, and topic of the thread, is to find a well specced off the shelf computer that's not vMix specific (and therefore no "vMix" tax) that can do the job. Wondering if anyone has found one that meets Obsidian or Diamond specs that works well.

Check out the Dell Precision 5820 Tower Workstation. I use one of these with the Intel® Coreā¢ i9-10980XE 18-core processor. Can be configured to mimic the Diamond recommended system.
