Hi!

I'm using an older version of vMix (2017), and just added an El Gato 4 input 4K card to the system. I did some tests, things looked good, with only a small glitch when starting to record and when scrolling through multiple camera previews in the bin. I then added in a second 4K source to switch to, things still looked good.

However, I move the second source to be more prominent in the edit and appear PiP with the first 4K source, and had some really bad glitching and tearing. It was a live to record program, so I made some adjustments on the fly. What I found was that if I shut off fullscreen second monitor monitoring and also turned that monitor off; then, minimized all inputs in the bin at the bottom, the tearing went away (at least back to the original level).

I'm on Windows 8 I think? Have to double check that, but I believe that's true (otherwise Win10). The motherboard I'm using has just barely enough lanes to handle this much video I think, and I have a circa 2017 video card.

My question is this: what's the best path to solving this issue?

Is it

1) upgrade vMix, not hardware upgrades
2) only upgrade the motherboard to get more lanes (currently 16 total)
3) only upgrade the graphics card
4) upgrade vMix plus graphics
5) upgrade vMix plus motherboard
6) upgrade all three

Or am I missing something else?

Oh, I just did a search in my orders, and here's my specs:

- Gigabyte Aorus 270X Gaming 7 motherboard
- Intel Core i5 6500 32 GHz
- 24GB of RAM
- 500GB SSD (OS and vMix)
- 3TB (recording video)
- GIGABYTE GeForce GTX 1060 Mini ITX OC 3GB
