Hi there,

Vmix is a great software, but when I set my External Output to work with the Intensity Pro, I get dropped frames and the video starts to flickering after some hours.

First, when I starts the External Output, everything looks running ok. The image is smooth and dont have any drop frame or flickering frame. But after 2 or 3 hours, the External Output + Intensity Pro start to drop frames, and the more time passes, the more I lose frames... So I have to stop external and active it again to get everything working fine, but after 2 or 3 hours, the problem happens again.

Specs: Vmix 14, Core I5 (3 generation), 8GB ram and GTX 650.

I tryed a lot of tips on the internet before ask here for help, but nothing worked.

Any help? Any tip?

Thank you!

Hi,

Can you provide a breakdown of all the settings you have configured in the External Output tab?
A screenshot would be best.

Regards,

Martin

Thank you for the answer, Martin.

Now I dont have access to the machine, but I took some screenshots from my notebook with the same configs I used (Notice that at DEVICE I used the Deck Link Video Render option).

Notice too that if I select the streaming internal of the vmix to stream to my account, after some hours the streaming got a similar problem, with a very high delay from video.

I really dont know what is happening. The render time is very low (below 10ms) and CPU usage is, on its most 10% (even If I have a lot of videos in timeline of Vmix, with streaming and external turned on).

The configs of Vmix match with the Intensity Pro.

Any tip?

What do you have set as the audio source in the Audio tab?

The streaming delay issue seems to be a different problem, there will always be a delay when streaming
but as long as the audio and video are in sync it will be fine.

I dont remember the settings of audio tab, but is it possible that the settings of audio tab could drop video frames after some hours?

Could be, if you selected a 3rd party audio device instead of vMix Audio and that device is playing up.

I dont think the audio is a problem, because I configured following all your instructions in the tutorial help page.

To be honest, I think the problem is exclusive with the external option. When I use the Fullscreen Output, I could use it for days and days and never get drop frames. But external -> black magic, i got drop frames after a few hours.

So, if there was an option to set fullscreen output to blackmagic... I dont know, but it could be a way.

So the problems I found:

1 - Streaming: Stream from vMix you'll get, after a few hours, a very high delay from what you are filming (live) and what you are streaming. To resolve it, I used External -> Flash Media Encoder, and never got delay.

2 - External to Blackmagic Intensity Pro: Even following your instructions on tutorial, I got a lot of drop frames after a few hours. The broadcast starts good, the problem appear after some hours. And here I dont have a "plan B": Just dont know what to do.

So my tip to solve the problem, is analyse if theres any bug with the External to Deck Link Cards, like Black Magic Intensity Pro.

vMix uses Flash Media Live encoder by default, so there must be a different setting in vMix somewhere
if you are seeing a different delay.

Please double check the Audio settings and report back, this is likely what is causing the problem because if the audio from the device
is having issues, it will start dropping frames.

Also, try using Intensity Pro as the External Output device instead of Decklink Video Render.

We've run 24 hour + tests on the latest vMix using Blackmagic cards on External Output without issue.

What version of firmware are you using for the intensity pro card, there is a Desktop Video 10.2.2 update for it here:

https://www.blackmagicde...ily/capture-and-playback

See if the update fixes your issues.

Yeah, the drivers are update and the version of vmix is the lastest too (14).

Anyway, I'll check everything again to see if it works and post here a reply.
