I have an Intel Core i7 on an Optiplex Dell machine and Intel core Xeon on a dell precision machine both with similar ram (32) and was previously used as office machines. My question is which of the two is better for VMIX? Please I need help and thank you.

It really depends on what you want to do. Some things, like NDI, use a lot of CPU so clock speed is important. Other things, like SDI input cards, need PCIe lanes of which the Xeon will offer more.

Is this a laptop or desktop? What kind of inputs do you expect to use?

The Machine that I am using is a desktop. and only zoom and skype I use NDI. why I am asking is that most of the time my vmix calls lag a lot and I have fiber optics as my internet is very fast but still the calls lag. I am using a GForce video card.

I'm on a E5-2630 V4 and no issues at all. It's not an actual system to be honest but you can top up with a 2680 using the same socket.
