14.0.0.83 win 7sp1 Sony webcam HDV-HCI firewire into computer. xlr mic into a Line 6 UX2 - usb device. add input - sonyHC-1, with audio device - UX2 Everything works - video good - audio comes through However, the audio is not tracking the video. it is about 300 milliseconds or so behind it. example: http://12z.us/delay-example.mp4 (1mb) Settings - Audio - Dfault unpot audio delay - this parameter seems to make zero difference. shift in audio in video is the same at 0, 500, 5000 Help!

Thank you.
I misspoke before. The "audio delay" setting in the "recording settings" does work. However, it is not enough.
I have adjusted the time delay for audio (or delay for video) to its maximum value of -2000 milliseconds. This has corrected the delay by 2 seconds. Now, the delay is only 1.233 seconds out of sync.
I go into each clip and make the 1.233 second adjustment - and it 'works' - but this is tedius (requiring separately unlinking the audio/video - making the shift, clipping forward and backward, relinking audio/video).
Is there a way to override the setting limitations (-2000 to +2000) in the recording settings? Or is there anywhere else I can change the settings? I have not found anything else in the manual. (thank you for the link).
Thank you!
Mark

I have a HDR-HC3 that I have connected to vMix through firewire and the onboard sound for that input remains in sync. Is it possible to feed your sound into the camera and use the onboarb camera sound thru firewire? I'm not familiar with the HDR-HC1. I know it had a few more manual options that were dumbed down in the HC3.

thank you for the idea! Unfortunately, I can't do sound directly into camera - it picks up a wicked buzz somewhere. :-(

In your test video the video signal is behind audio (what it normally is, audio is faster than video especially with firewire cams). The delay or latency is about 350ms. Try the following set-up: Add your camera as an camera input with "Audio Device" set to "none", add your Line 6 USB device as an audio input and set a delay of 350ms (not "-"!). In recording settings set audio delay to zero. That should do the job.

OK - I am attempting to follow the instructions above. when I use Line 6 as the Audio input when goto Settings|Audio Input, it puts an approximately 3000 millisecond pause in my recorded audio - the sound comes in BEFORE the video. This does not change when I vary the "default input audio delay" value in the settings|audio input page, nor when I change the
I add the hci videocamera as input i goto settings, audio input, and choose none.
I then add a new input for the Line 6 microphone audio (I now have 2 input windows, one for video, one for audio) I highlight the "audio" of the line 6 input and un-highlight the audio for the HC1 camera. It records the audio fine - just 275 milliseconds late (which is different than the 300
Here is where I get confused. I can't find a separate "audio input" and "audio" ONLY for the Line 6. There is only 1 settings button. So, when I goto settings|audio input - it says "none" - when I goto settings|audio - no matter what number I put in the I get the same delay in the final file.
I am stuck. I don't know what I am doing wrong. thank you if you can help.
