Audio problems (clicking noises)

Hey!
During livestreams I have encountered a continuous audio problem, where I get some noisy clicking sounds. It primarily happens, when the volume of the mics are based around the higher levels (non-peaking though). The clicking noises are not generated by the mic source itself and occurs independently of the mic source. Could it be due to some Vmix-settings that has been configurated in a non-optimal way? Or could it be the audio card of my PC that's running on overtime?
If anyone in here has experienced a similar problem, it would be a great help, if you would reach out! :)

How are you capturing your audio? Clicks and pops in the audio are typically the result of an insufficient buffer in USB audio interface devices and/or ASIO applications like DANTE.

Sounds plausible that it is due to a USB buffer. We do use an ASIO driver (Behringer 404HD). Do you know a solution to this issue? Additionally, we also use the USB audio interface for monitoring the headphones output in vMix. Do you know if it would help to route the headphone output to another output in the computer to limit the workload on the audio device?
