Is there a way so that when the video is loaded it goes first to preview and not to the output side (program)??

Hello doggy and thanks for the reply. So, in the first instance upon opening vMix, two(2) input boxes appear. One with a green banner and the other with a yellow. I suppose this is default. I now have chosen the video I want to load and have completed the process of doing so. The video appears (populates) in the output window and not in the preview window. Yes, I can cut it back to the preview window. What I would rather happen is when the video is loaded that it load first to the preview window. Regardless, if I select the window with the green banner (output or program) or the yellow banner (preview) the video loads to the output (green) banner output side. I want it to be the opposite and seek the means to do so. I trust I have clarified my predicament and seeking a solution if there is one.

When you open a blank vmix preset and you load a video it goes on air, because how it is designed to do.When you open a new blank preset, when you load an input, automatically it will load to programm input, because it is the only one source it finds to go on air. To do what you want, go to add input-->colour and this will put a black colour input 1 screen that will be on air/right window. Then go to save button, give a name and the next time you will open vmix, instead of open by vmix.exe shortcut, open directly preset Then try to add a video and see where it goes..
