I recently upgraded PTZOptics firmware on our cameras. The procedure required we save the camera master data containing all the setting positions. This gets restored after the upgrade.

After the upgrade, the camera had lost its definition and all the preset information. It acted oddly in vMix and wouldn't redefine and establish or reassign the presets. There was an object definition error. The restore of the camera settings did no good even though it was done prior to starting vMix.

I have not finished the process but think I will have to redefine all the presets again.

Does anyone have insights?

My take is vMix needs to put a warning in the manual regarding this topic.

This seems like a PTZOptics problem rather than a vMix issue. No?

Are you talking about presets in camera or vMix presets?

I think I saw this awhile back with PTZ... The difference is weather you use Sony Visca or PTZOptics in the PTZ setting of Vmix. When we tried to move the cams to Sony Visca, they had different presets then in the Visca mode. Iam sorry I dont have it front of me but there are at least two methods of Visca in the PTZ tab for your camera, I forget exactly what the other is called. So, i switched back did the show we were doing at the time of the upgrade. I hear ya'll why did you do THAT?!?
Anyway it all went fine and yes we did reprogram the presets in Sony Visca afterward and never looked back.

I hope this makes sense.
