I have some new titles with text blocks that are meant to be multi-line.

If I set them up and save presets, when I go back in later on, the carriage returns are missing in the title editor textbox.

In other words, a text field in Title Editor is set up as:
1
2
3
4
5

Later when recalled / modifying it, the textbox in the editor shows:
12345

This is going to be very confusing and frustrating for the operators.

Am I missing something?

Hi,

Are you able to provide a list of steps for us to replicate?
For example, I just did the following test:

1. Add a GT Text template
2. Go to Title Editor and type in:

1
2
3
4
5

3. Save as a preset
4. Open that preset
5. Go to Title Editor

In the above test the text still shows exactly as it did before, with each number on a separate line.

Regards,

Martin

Will do - it's seemingly random, so I have to do actual tests to see what sequence is causing it. I've been buried, working on a lot in GT updating some titles among other projects, so I haven't had time to investigate further.

I'll try to figure out what's happening this weekend.

It appears to be happening when the vMix preset (not title preset) is saved and recalled.

- Title editor > enter multi-line text > save as title preset
- Can go back to that title and it still is fine (CR's in edit boxes and title graphic). Can select title presets and it's still fine.
- Close vMix, reopen vMix preset.
- Go into title editor, everything is on one line in the editor boxes but displays correctly in the title graphic.

If I try to fix it by putting carriage returns in the appropriate places in the single row of text, the title graphic shows TWO carriage returns. I have to delete all text, then re-enter it to get the CR's to be correct again in both the editor and the graphic. So it appears that the saved carriage returns are getting stripped when the editor boxes are refilled from the overall preset.

I can just confirm that this has been happening for years for me.

Instead of deleting all the text, you can delete this CR. When moving the cursor with the arrow keys in Title Editor, there is a moment where the cursor seemingly does not move. That's where the "hidden CR" is.

(Not saying, this is not bugging me, but it beats re-entering all the text.)
