Ability to assign a multiview layer via the physical input number instead of the input name.

A simple check box next to the multiview layer would be good (just like in the shortcut section)

As an example:

I have 8 calls in inputs 1-8. Mid show I want to close these 8 call inputs and append 8 previous created calls into the current show.
My previous 8 calls were assigned in various multiview layers across multiple inputs.
Currently I have to go through all of the inputs and reassign each call input in the previously used multiview layers.

If the assignment was linked to input numbers the multiview layer would remain assign to whatever is in inputs 1-8. So when I append my 8 new calls, all multiview layer assignments are filled and not blank.

Hope that makes sense :)

Thanks
Kris

Confused

- You can set a multiview layer by the input number , there are shortcut functions for that
- There is a checkbox next to each layer , even a shortcut to change them

How?

Which shortcut allows you to assign any input at a specific number to a Multiview layer, rather than a specific input?

The input number shortcuts that I've used are just a shorthand for that particular input. If you assign the multiview 1 to input 4, then change which input is at input 4, it doesn't automatically change the layer.

The ability to assign a layer to an input number, regardless of what input is present at that number, like you can do with shortcuts, is very clearly what they're asking for.

If you know how to do that like you're claiming, then, please, share.

That just turns them on & off--there's no "Assign to Input Number" option (like when you create shortcuts), which is very clearly what they're referring to.

Did you seriously read that part of their comment & think they're asking for a checkbox that does literally anything, as long as there's a checkbox there?

I see now, sorry i misunderstood (confused it ith specifying th enumber within a shortcut /function )

It indeed doesn't retain.

Well as per usual until FR implemented the quickest solution for now would be to assign a few shortcuts to put an input by number to the multiview under the same key to be called once the inputs are rearanged or put in these positions

like value 1,1 / value 2,2 / value 3,3 etc or small script looping through these values when called

Hope that helps to get going for now

Would be practical so +1
