Hi Martin,
I was wondering if vMix supports video transparency (alpha channel) and if it does in what formats.
Warmest regards, Maxim Ronkin

Hi,
vMix supports alpha channel on QuickTime files where available. So if you create a QuickTime video with format that supports alpha channel, the video will play correctly in vMix and can be used as an overlay.

Hi
I try this options but I not work. I create with Adobe Premiere CS 5 QT files with :Animations, PNG, TGA, TIFF compassion but vMix V2 don't show the correct alfa chanel on the screen. Only still PNG pictures is show very well, but the video QT file is not.

Problem fixed but not from this link. 1. The Quick Time move with any alpha channel need to open into Quick Time Player. 2. Got to Window> Show Movie Properties 3. Select the video track 4. Go to Visual Settings 5. On Transparency - change to Straight Alpha 6. Save the movie Now the mov file correct alpha channel and work with vMix. Best Regards Charlie

Hi Martin, I am testing software for purchase, the thing I am having problems with is that I want to create a station Id using a graphic or animated graphic id in lower left hand side and apply a 50% opacity to it and leave it in the program output for duration of the vision mix is this possible. This is imperative for a full bodied vision mixer as it is important for branding your program. BTW way great software looking forward to test V3 b4 purchase. ALso hope this is an appropriate spot for my question am new to forums..
Cheers Joe

Hi Joe,
Yes, you will need to create a graphic (either as a PNG or a Flash Video) and configure it in Flash or your graphics program with the correct opacity level. Then simple add it to vMix and use the 1,2,3,4 buttons to enable or disabled it as an overlay on your project.
Regards,
Martin vMix
