Hi,

I'm looking to build a new rig for vMix. I'm looking at using Intel 12th Gen CPUs with Z690 Motherboards. I'm looking at this primarily for mid-sized event use so an i7-12700K with coupled with a 3060TI (to utliise Resizable Bar), 32GB DDR4 memory running Windows 10 Pro.

Anybody out there already using the use 12th Gen CPUs with vMix? Any issues to look out for performance wise and stability wise, especially with the issues regards P&E cores running Windows 10?

Should I stay will 10/11th Gen and stay with the known configs? Just thinking that those platforms are older moving forward will become "obsolete" fairly quickly given Intel and Microsoft are moving forward with 12th Gen/Windows 11.

I haven't pulled the trigger and actually purchased components yet and am still at the design stage. Any comments or experience will be most helpful now.

Thanks in advance.

I would choose 12th Gen with ddr5 ram , and the RTX 3060 non ti , it's better to have 12 GB of memory instead of 8 GB , for windows 11 I think waiting another 3 or 4 months is better:)

I'm interested in this too.

I'm currently planning a system build and I'm weighing up using a 5800x on X570s Aorus Master with a 3060 Vs a 12700k on a Z690 Aorus Master with a 3060.

Which motherboard did you go with for the Z690?

I can't find any issues online regarding this set up. Mostly reviews relating to gaming rigs, but I figure if it's solid for gaming I don't why their should be any stability issues for vMix....

Could really do with Martin or one of the vmix jumping in.....maybe they have some test rigs running

Would also like to hear your experience if you've gone ahead with the build :) and also the specs you've chosen for RAM.

Thanks
Kris
