First, vMix rocks. You can do almost anything and with some tricks you can even achieve the result I'm looking for, but there is a simpler solution.
So please make it simple and add the feature "Create Virtual audio input". You have a feature today to create a virtual input, but that just creates a virtual video input. I want a virtual audio input that I can tweak with delay and EQ and then send it to another bus.
The simple solution is just to complement the feature "Create virtual input" with an associated virtual audio input as well.
Another solution would be to complement with a new kind of Audio input which makes it possible to select a specific input and tap just that audio and do what ever you like with it. It's possible today to create such similar audio inputs for buses, so just make it possible to tie to an input as well.
Disclaimer: Sorry if this feature has been proposed before, but I haven't found anything. Neither that this function actually exists today in vMix.
Thx! /Peter

By the way, I kind of got around this because I have a decklink channel that I want to use to bring audio in as well as video. But I want to use that audio more than just when that input is live. Creating a virtual input doesn't work because there's no audio with it. So I want to add that declink input onto a layer of another input without showing any video from it. I used the new Flatten function in v28 on the decklink input, so I can now add it as a layer to another input and be able to do a full crop on it, effectively making it invisible on that layer, but let the audio still pass through with it in the new input.
Maybe there's a more elegant approach? Seems to work though.
