in the lowerpart under the capture input there are options to record, stream, external, multicorder etc.

if you don't use these options you don't want to see them.

would be nice to have an option in settings where you can turn visability on or off. this way users can not make a mistake and click stream in stead of record or something.

This option already exists. Click the word basic above the program monitor and it hides all those options.
