MS Teams won't send out vMix external output to participants

I have the "external" button activated in vMix. I've chosen "vMix Video External 2" in MS Teams as my webcam. I can see the vMix external feed coming in as my webcam on my own system, but every other participant in MS Teams cannot see my webcam--it's as if my webcam is turned off. This is only true for feeds coming in from vMix. If I change my camera on MS Teams to sources other than vMix, my webcam displays fine for all other participants. This is not unique to my system, as my wife's vMix system does the same thing on MS Teams. This is not a problem on Zoom--works fine there.
I'm not sure why MS Teams is showing me my vMix external webcam, but not the other participants. Anyone else have this problem?

I see it has been a while since you've posted this question. Have you found a solution? The way I do this is by using an NDI out channel out of vmix, into teams.

Haven't found a solution, but will try the NDI route. Not sure why it doesn't work otherwise...
