Hi vMix Team,

I found a little bug in the dialog "Manage Dialog Sources".

The shown path is cut off at the first space character found in a folder name.

Example:

Full path is

"E:\VideoProduction\DECIDE Media\Projects\P01-News\DataSource\Ticker Lists.xls"

The dialog shows

"E:\VideoProduction\DECIDE"

Additionally, the path is cut off here after 58 characters. I think this is because the size of the box that displays the path which could simply increased to the right since there is plenty of space in the dialog available.

Best regards,
Hans

PS: uploading a 19 KB .png screen shot did not work (using Firefox browser)

should avoid using spaces in file paths. can use %20 to replace the space in the link path. Better to use for example underscore instead of spaces in various names

The 58 characters display does not affect the workings

Did you use the insert attachment option ?

Thanks for your reply, doggy,

I made another test with spaces in folder and file names. It seems that if the entire path (drive letter, folders and filename.ext) does fit in the box that displays the path, it is displayed correctly. Only if the entire path exceeds the size of the box it will be cut off at the first space character.

I know that this is only a display, not a functional problem.

I think it is an easy-to-solve detail for the vMix team.

(my background is 25 years of software development, long time ago now :-) )

And yes, I used the "Insert an existing Attachment or upload a new File..." function here in the forum. After adding the small 19 KB .png file, the dialog waits forever. Clicking again on "Start upload(s)..." it says in red it will close automatically when finished uploading.

Maybe , but its a general windows and browser thing too; avoid spaces (also for readability by a human)

I agree that using spaces in http links should be avoided, but I am not talking about those links. I was talking about a file path on the Windows operating system displayed within a vMix dialog window.

Btw, I now tried Google Chrome to upload a screenshot here, same behaviour as with Firefox.
