Hello,

I have a client who is doing a donference which involves both powerpoint presentaitons and software demos.

The presenters are dialling in remotely so I have to use vMix call.

Currently the only way I can get the caller in as a webcam and have their screen share is by making 2 vMix calls per presenter and get them to use one for their webcam in one browser tab, and then open a second call in a second tab where they share their screen.

This is clunky and the client does not like the presenter experience with this setup - they are asking to use Zoom instead, which is possible but webcam quality is not as good as in vMix call.

Is there another solution anyone knows of that will allow me to capture an entire display for software demo and also a full screen webcam so that I can create branded picture in picture sources etc.?

The beta.vmixcall.com only allows you to switch between video and screenshare, but you can't have both at the same time as far as I know. And if that is possible there's no control over the size or position of the webcam.

Thanks! This refers just to powerpoint presentations - I need presenters to share their entire display.

Concern for the presenter experience is legit. And you need the sources you need.

Consider how awards shows like the Oscars and Grammy's were produced last year. A preset kit of equipment was sent to the guests location. All ready to go.

I'd consider a laptop with nVidea GPU running vMix. Not as big as something you'd need as a main vMix system. Just enough to collect the camera and screen from the presenters computer.

Just connect to their local Ethernet and you have remote access.

Preset it to send you SRT.

Connect HDMI or Display Port to gather the presenters computer.

Might be cheaper to send them a hardware RTMP/SRT encoder with just whatever is required to collect the computer display.

vMix call for the webcam

Hardware encoder for the shared screen.

I've used something like this in other applications. https://amzn.to/3wmFcWx

A few more other options.
#1 Wait for NDI 5
#2 try medialooks VT. It allows some remote control as well
#3 try vdo.ninja

Try ZoomISO, we switched to it and it has greatly simplified things for the presenters
