Intel(R) Core(TM) i9-9820X CPU @ 3.30GHz 3.31 GHz
64.0 GB (63.7 GB usable)
Asus WS 299 SAGE
Nvidia Quadro P4000
Blackmagic Quad2
2 M.2 in system, one for operating system, the other used to record vmix main output
8 SSDs - new ones -to record each cam input to a separate drive

Cameras used - High-end Sony DSLR - actual model coming and 4 gopro hero 7
Cams sent via HDMI to SDI converters to input of Quad2

Four shows perfect. No issues. Two shows audio out of sync. Nailing this down is clear impossible as I have no way to recreate the conditions. But here's what I'm planning to do to mitigate ANY possible issues that MAY have caused this issue - and I have REALLY looked at this. I don't think it was one thing...I think it was a combination of things because the sync issue only happened sometimes.

1. ISSUE: I left the recording running no matter what - thru bad takes, breaks etc.
This time starting and stopping recording after each tune if appropriate.

2. ISSUE: Heat. We did not turn off all cams every time.
This time all cams get shut down after each act...turned on for sound check - turned off - then on before act begins.

3. ISSUE: Computer. I did massive work on optimization and have followed all the guidelines in Vmix optimization guide. There's not much else I can do, but if anybody can help with the graphic card settings under Nvidia Control panel to maximize its use - this would be appreciated.

4. ISSUE: Computer. The computer is going to be turned off or rebooted after each show.

4. ISSUE: Data. Writing to SSDs to max efficiency is what I'm trying to do. What I did last time I create all my directories, and left all the data there as each show progressed. I neve got beyond even 50% full on the SSDs but this time I'm planning on removing the data after each show and quick formatting each SSD. On this one, I don't know if it will help.

I have another show starting next week. Want to do EVERYTHING I can to avoid sync problems. If any of you have advice, comments, suggestions - fantastic....What I can't do is alter the gear I have to use - have to work with what we got, and make it work the best we can.

What bothers me is that the sync issue didn't happen consistently....I have no idea why. If it was one thing, then the problem you think would be consistent.

Thanks for reading.
