We have 2 co-hosts, same location, with separate mics as L+R, fed remotely via vMix call.

VMix call manager reports the audio bitrate as 64 kbps, which sounds like 32 kbps per channel. Doesn’t sound great.

Is it 64kbps per channel, or combined?

How can do you increase the audio bitrate with vMix to vMix calls?

What’s the best way to feed a second audio channel alongside the vMix call to get a higher bitrate and quality for each of the 2 mics?

Why don't you use Dante. That is audio at it's best.
Second option would be SRT between vMix. Much better than webRTC.

Thanks Mavik

I didn’t know about Dante.

If we have vmix at both ends, but only need HQ audio from our remote hosts, what would the Dante setup be?

The documentation is somewhat lacking.

Is it a virtual Dante sound card that’s needed at each end? Do we need Via? If so, is it installed on the source or receiver? Or both?

What’s the bitrate? How well does it work across the internet?
