It would be helpful to have the ability to assign non-sequential input numbers.

Quick example:
0-99 - Audio inputs, playback lists, timers, etc
101 1-up look, input 1 (sequentially increasing from there), etc
201 2-up looks
301 3-up looks,
401 4-up looks

901 - graphics assets and frames that are referenced by other inputs

This would let us sort really quickly, but also solves some issues when using Companion or similar, and adding inputs into the middle of ranges. In this scenario, we would always know what 101, 102, etc are, across all shows.

Lets be fair:
- one can put them under colored tabs
- one can search for them with a vMix script on type, name etc
- one can give inputs a useful name and select on that
- scrolling through a selection list would become harder
- one can use vMix voice control to select them by name or number
- That is a companion (or similar) problem not a vMix one

Just a request as an option that you could choose to take advantage of or not. We're finding that there are nearly as many ways that users are setting up their shows as there are users.

We use tabs; we run out of them based on how our shows are working out, so that's not an option in this scenario. We use useful names; just looking at additional ways to organize inputs that can work into our workflow and standardize what we are doing across a dozen control rooms.

Again, looking at it as an option, since we can already assign input numbers, why do they have to be sequential?
