If you produce any pre-recorded content it is useful to be able to pause your recording for many different reasons including thinking through your next scene or finding your next PowerPoint slide or taking a coffee break or returning a phone call. Pausing and Resuming cannot be done within vMix but you can use vMix with Zoom.us which does have a Pause/Resume button. I create my program content in vMix but record it using Zoom.us. To do this, open both vMix and Zoom; then overlay the Zoom output screen on top of the vMix output screen. The Zoom output screen can be locked in place so it always stays on top of vMix even while you are clicking on other vMix inputs. This solution works perfectly and can be done using only one monitor. All of the Zoom controls will appear right there with your Zoom Output screen. If you're going to 'live stream' using vMix with Zoom, you'll need two monitors; one for vMix and the other for Zoom to make use of the Zoom chat room. I use a Stream Deck to control the short cuts for both vMix and Zoom.
